At West Augusta Dental Associates, we are very insurance-friendly and have a dedicated staff to help you get the most out of your dental insurance benefits. We accept and file most insurances on your behalf. We are considered an unrestricted provider, which means we are out of network with many dental insurance plans. The good news is that if your employer-selected plan allows for out-of-network coverage, you have the freedom to select the practice of your choice instead of having to find an in-network corporately owned practice or clinic that works on a high-volume, high-turnover business model. It also allows us to work with you to determine the best treatment options instead of having a third-party insurance company impose downgrades and make changes to the care we recommend based on profits for the insurance company. We will be happy to help you determine the nature of your plan and answer any insurance questions.

 

We believe in making dental care straightforward and transparent, including the financial aspects. Unlike medical insurance, dental insurance typically works as a cost-sharing program with annual maximums and varying levels of coverage. Most plans cover preventive care (like teeth cleanings and exams) at a higher percentage, while basic procedures (fillings) and major procedures (crowns, bridges) are covered at lower percentages.
