The SureSmile Process: What You Need to Know

SureSmile clear aligners are customized to your smile; you’ll wear them for 20 to 22 hours each day, removing them only to eat, brush, and floss.

Here’s what you can expect from the process:

Consultation and planning — During your initial consultation, we’ll assess your oral health and discuss your smile goals. If you’re a candidate for SureSmile, we’ll take digital impressions and create a 3-D model of your teeth before creating a treatment plan tailored to your orthodontic needs.
Aligner fabrication — Next, we’ll send your 3-D model to a dental lab to create your aligner trays. Once we receive them, you’ll come back so we can go over how to wear them and ensure a proper fit.
Treatment and follow-up — You’ll wear your clear aligners for up to 22 hours each day, changing to a new set about every two weeks or so. We’ll schedule periodic checkups to ensure your treatment is on track. Once your treatment is complete, you’ll wear a retainer to keep your teeth from shifting back to their original position.
